Welcome digital nomads, join me on the ultimate adventure that never ends. Its a feeling, millions of stories of different people around the world, the experience and above all peace.

view from my room!!

The sweet chirping of birds and the warm sunshine with the smokey mountains greeted me good morning on the 3rd day of my trip. the sky was blue and no signs of raining. it was a perfect day to relax but I was filled with energy and had no intention of staying in. I got some sandwich, upma, and aachar for my breakfast and got ready for the first place on my list today which way Malsi Deer Park which is now renamed as the Dehradun zoo.

It was approximately 1.5 kilometers from the hotel where I was staying so I decided to take a walk. it was sunny outside and it will be a good way to explore more on the way and enjoy the mountains, cool air, and it will also be a good exercise for me.

I handed my room keys to the manager and walked out with a huge smile on my face. I could feel it was going to be a great day. There was traffic on the way as all of the people were going out as it was not raining today. I reached at the zoo after 20 mins of the walk which would have taken less time if it wasn't for the traffic.

The entry fee was 30 rs as I didn't choose to see the aquarium and if I would have then it would have cost me around 40 rs. there was so much of crowd at the ticket counter it took me another 15 mins to reach the front desk to get the ticket. there were many birds and animal but I was most excited about the macaw and the deer for which it was popular.

It was a short hike to the bird's cage and mind it be prepared to climb the stairs and walk a bit to the top. It was worth the stress to go to the top as the view was amazing and the birds were very beautiful. Then it was time to go see the deer. There were many animals on the way, Amherst's pheasant, leopards, parakeets, lovebirds, and many others. Finally, I got to the deer and there weren't that much in number but they were very beautiful. I guess I spent nearly 2 hrs there just taking as many pictures as I could and enjoying the company of the animals.

Then I headed back to my hotel and it was 11.55 when I got back to my hotel. I grabbed a quick simple lunch and I got ready to go the mindrolling monastery. I just prayed to god that I reach there in time to explore as they will close the gates after 6pm.

It is a great place to relax and reflect upon life so I wanted to spend as much time as I could there. I ordered an OLA cab as I didn't want to pay the ridiculous price. the cab took approx 1 hr to get there because of traffic as it was lunch hour for many. (note: it was 12.30 when I started my ride ).

I didn't want a cab so I ordered an OLA auto and I was lucky as one was just 2 minutes away. ( the autos are not that frequent here ).  The roads were full of life with people spilling out from every street. when I reached the mindrolling monastery I was just dumbstruck to see such beauty and calmness of the place. there was a very little crowd there as it was still lunch hour and there is also a bookstore inside the premises on Buddhism. there are plenty of shops near the monastery to shop for souvenirs to take back home.

If you are a foodie there is also a great place to try Tibetan cuisine and I despised the fact that I just ate the lunch and had no place in my stomach to eat anything.

The monastery I very renowned for its architectural work that is displayed in the interiors and structure. I truly enjoyed and relaxed there and bought some souvenirs back with me.

( interesting fact:  the monastery has 5 floors in total and the 5th floor is only open to tourist on Sundays. if you are fortunate enough to to get to the 5th floor the Dehra valley will surely mesmerize you )

It was around 5.30 when I reached my hotel and that brings me to the end of the 3rd most productive day. And back to my view.

  1. Thank you and I hope that the problems I had to face due to transportation issue won't be faced by other travellers such as me.
