7 Days Gujarat Tour Itinerary | Lion And Kings

gujarat, travel,travel tips,travel hacks,india travel hacks,travel in india,

Gujarat is one of my favourite destinations in India. The land of legends and lions! Gujarat is home to numerous temples ordained with Indian architecture, advanced cities and rich cultural diversities.

The state truly believes in the words that "Guest is our God". Gujarat is a paradise for tourists.

It offers natural attractions like beaches and forests and pilgrimage destinations like Dwarka and ancient Buddha caves in Junagadh, forts & palaces and of course the spirit of the rich culture of state – colourful festivals like Rann Kutch Utsav or the Saputara Monsoon Festival.

So, here's my 7 days Gujarat trip itinerary.

Day 1 - Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad is the largest city of Gujarat and Sabarmati rivers runs through this city. Not only easily accessible from the state you stay or arrive in India it's one of the best places to start your trip.

There are many amazing places you can visit such as Sabarmati Ashram, Jama Masjid, Adalaj Stepwell, The Calico Museum of Textiles and many more.

You may roam local streets to try some delicious food and get some traditional wall hangings as souvenirs. Rest for the night and get ready for the road trip to finally start.

Day 2 - Ahmedabad – Lothal

Lothal Harappan is a period Archaeological site. It is one of the cities from the Indus valley civilization that was discovered in 1954.

Lothal had world’s earliest irrigation tank that was connected to the Sabarmati River. It was a trade centre in ancient times and shared goods with Persia, Egypt, Bahrain and Sumer.

After an excursion of the city of earliest human civilization return back to your hotel and get that good night sleep.

Day 3 - Ahmedabad - Junagadh

A little over an hour of drive you will reach Junagadh. This place is famous for its architecture and Junagadh Museum and Ashok Shilalekh – a collection of the edicts by Emperor Ashoka - The Great.

there are a lot of places to see while you are in Junagadh such as Girnar, Mahabat Maqbara, Uparkot Fort and many more.

Day 4 - Junagadh – Gir National Park - Somnath

Today try to go to Gir National Park from Junagadh which is just over 75 kilometres from Junagadh. Gir National Park is home of 44 magnificent Asiatic lions and 250 migratory bird species.

There are 40 recorded species of Reptiles including Crocodiles as well. The Gir Forest is a deciduous forest with large patches of Grasslands and isolated hills.

Next, another scenic road trip from Gir to Somnath as you cruise near the sea. If you want more of the perfect marine drive then find some other route and you can always take the help of google map.

Reach Somnath and rest for the night and the next day will be packed with more adventures.

Day 5 - Somnath – Dwarka

Today wake up really early as the most beautiful road trip of your entire tour awaits you. But before that visit the most beautiful temple, ordained in gold that is the temple of lord shiva situated right beside the majestic sea.

Next hop into your car and head from Somnath to Dwarka which will take over 4 to 5 hours. The entire road trip cruise near to see and get a chance to drive the most beautiful marine drive as you advance to Dwarka.

On your arrival at Dwarka check into your hotel and rest and then head to to the sea beach for the sunset to end your perfect day and then go to Shree Dwarkadhish Temple for the evening prayer which will truly be an aesthetic experience.

Day 6 - Dwarka - Bhuj

Wake up really early and get ready to visit bet Dwarka which is an island situated near Dwarka which is only accessible by boat. hop on the boat and reach bet Dwarka to experience the original Dwarka temple as most of the original Dwarka is believed to have drowned under the sea.

Next-hop on and get ready for a long road trip to Bhuj by Jamnagar.

Visit the Swaminarayan temple in Jamnagar. Later on, we proceed to Bhuj.

Day 7 - Bhuj - Tent City

Today proceed to the Tent City (Dhordo). Enroute we visit Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal. In the evening we proceed to the White Rann to witness the Grandeur of Sunset.

Enjoy cultural activities at the Tent City and a get-together with your travel companions and enjoy the last night of your trip and share your experience socialise under the free sky.

Day 8 - Tent city - Ahmedabad - home sweet home

Travel back to Ahmedabad and return back to your home and miss the trip forever.
