How To Pack For Your Next Trip

Travel light and pack smart, sounds easy right? but a more challenging task than one might comprehend. If someone asks me what is the single most crucial thing I do before I go somewhere then it has to be packing.

Trust me it is a head-scratcher you can easily overpack and not pack the important item that you might actually need on a trip.

Now, what you pack depends on where you are going but there are a few constant things I make sure I have in my backpack when I go somewhere.

Here is a list of all the essentials that you should have in your backpack no matter the place you are going.

Bags and whats inside it :

Now I know what you are thinking, what difference does it make if I carry any type of bags? they all are basically the same. Well, I thought the same until I got my bag stolen at a train station and was left stranded in the middle of the night without any means to contact to anyone as all my money and mobile was in that one bag I was carrying. from then I always have 3 bags on me.
  • A bag that has all the important travel documents that I may need and I always keep that bag with me.
  • A backpack for my electronics and money that I use as a carry-on.
  • A regular 4 wheel trolley bag of medium size in which I store my clothes.
Apart from all these I usually have
  • Reusable collapsible plastic bag.
  • Clear bag for my shoes and socks.
  • Small purse to store my toothbrush, floss etc.
  • Separate wallet for my credit cards.
  • My camera gear bag.
These are basically how much bags I have on me so that I can store different things in them and not have the trouble of losing them.

Power:

I always have a separate international charger for my phone, laptop, tablet and my batteries. That saves me the trouble of charging abroad.

Apart from these I always have a power bank for both my phones and my laptop so that I can always stay connected where there is no electricity ( camping trips etc.).

Clothes and accessories:

well, I know that clothes largely depends on the place you are going, may it be a cold place or hot ones but I always have a few things that I carry with me while I travel.
  • Walking shoes or breathable shoes ( extremely comfortable when you are going for a trek or hike or even taking a tour ) and boots ( for a stylish getaway look ).
  • Hidden money belt.
  • Sunglasses.
  • Reusable water bottles.
  • Packing cubes.
  • Travel pillow.
  • Earplugs.
These are basically what I normally carry where ever I go.

Prepare your carry-on bag:

The next thing you’ll want to do is prepare your personal item carry-on bag with anything you’ll want with you on the flight. It’s always a good idea to make sure you have an outfit (or two) and a few essential toiletries in your personal item just in case your luggage is lost.

Technology:
  • Mobile, laptop charger and power bank.
  • Headphone ( noise-cancelling ones ).
  • Camera, memory card, charger.
  • Adapter.
Comfort, Entertainment And Information:
  • Travel pillow, eye mask, earplugs.
  • Journal and a pen.
  • Books and magazine.
  • Water bottles.
  • Guide books, travel guides, maps, language guides, etc.
We recommend you consider using a small daypack or backpack as your personal carry-on item.

Pack your travel securities:

In most large cities, travellers should always be on the lookout for pickpockets. One way to make sure that all your important documents and money and credit cards are safe by stashing your valuables underneath your clothing.

Consider these safety travel essentials:
  • Money belt or hidden pocket
  • Neck wallet
  • Incognito All Terrain Money Belt.
  • Luggage Travel Lock
Always remember to lock your bags closed and using reflective accents to help folks see you at nighttime.

Medications:

There will most likely be a pharmacy close by, depending on where you are vacationing, however, it may be smart to take a small bag of the most necessary pills with you.
  • Any prescription medications.
  • Travel First Aid Kit.
  • Anti-inflammatory Medication.
  • Cold and Flu Tablets/Lozenges
  • Motion sickness Tablets
Carrying these with you may eliminate a few possible diseases and health issues.

Again these are absolutely all that you may need on a trip but I will recommend taking whatever you think I most essential to you and not overburden yourself by taking all the items.

Travel light and pack smart!.
