Manali is a destination that has a certain charm throughout the year. The summer season, falling in March to June, with a pleasant climatic condition throughout the day. In winters, Manali gets decked in a bright coat of snow, making it look like a place straight out of a dream. The winters are chilly with minimum temperature falling to sub-zero levels. This is the ideal time for tourists to enjoy snowfall in Manali.

There are literally a hundred beautiful, breathtaking places to see in Manali but these 7 are my personal places. Manali is the land of mountain gods and the beauty is something that will never escape your mind once you saw it. Manali suits the needs of every kind of travel mindset. A family looking for some bonding time, a couple for some peace and quiet, solo travellers for some solitude or a group of friends seeking an adventure.

Old Manali

The orchards and the old guesthouses are the major attractions in Old Manali. It is located at a distance of 3 kilometres from the main town. Manaligarh fort is very popular here. It has been one of the ancient ruin forts here. You can even find the Manu Maharishi temple in old Manali. It is a very popular place to visit especially in the month of April.

Vashisht

Vashisht is located just opposite the Beas River. It is located at a distance of just 10 minutes from the Manali town. It is popular for its inexpensive guest houses as well as for various alternative therapies. They include tarot, past life regression, massage as well as Reiki. The best time to visit Vashist is during the months of April to October.

ROHTANG PASS

Rohtang Pass is situated at 13051 feet above sea level on the way to Leh. Also known as the snow point this place is the most famous tourist attraction in Kullu Manali. Rohtang Pass is Known for its scenic beauty and amazing view. It is the most popular tourist place in Kullu Manali. Due to Traffic Jams on this route Taxis from other states are normally not allowed to Rohtang Pass.

Solang valley

Solang Valley is one of the popular Kullu Manali tour places famous for snow activities. It is a place where the ski school of Kullu Manali is located. The best season to visit Solang valley is from January to February. Solang valley is an ideal place to indulge in snow activities. Experience the softness of fresh snow, enjoy a cable car ride to reach the top of this valley and view the snow-covered mountains from there.

Naggar Village

Once it was the capital city of Kullu. The main attractions of Naggar are an ancient castle of stone and wood and a Gallery exhibiting the painting of a Russian artist Nicholas Roerich and some ancient temples.

HADIMBA DEVI TEMPLE

It is a 500-year-old temple situated in Manali. This shrine doesn’t have an idol but only footprints on a big stone. The Temple was dedicated to Hidimba Devi. It is an ancient cave temple. Every year on the month of Savan a fair is organised which is known as Sarojini or Bahadur Singh Re Jatar.

Beas River

Beas River is a gorgeous rapid flowing river in Manali. You can just sit or walk around the place and admire its natural beauty. You can indulge in various thrilling activities like zip lining and river rafting which is very popular over here. The best time to visit Beas River is from mid-April to June and then again from Mid-September to October

Beyond all of this, don’t forget to be an explorer in Manali. Look beyond the obvious. You will find numerous trails all around Manali and if any looks inviting, just ask any local about it.
