DAY 1:
Arrive Kushok Bakula airport Leh - 3500m above sea level, go check into your homestay and spent Half Day at rest for acclimatization. After lunch Visit, Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace which are situated approximately 5 kilometers from the city center. the calm of the place will take your soul to a peaceful place. Later in the evening walk around the local market. Some good venues for shopping in Ladakh are Ladakh Art Palace on the Main Bazaar Road. Tibetan Handicraft Emporium on the Main Bazaar Road. Ladakh Environment and Health Organization on the Main Bazaar Road. Tibetan Handicraft Community Showroom in Choglamsar. Cottage Industries Exposition in Changspa. Go to sleep a little early as you may have to wake up early the next morning and it also helps with the acclimatization.
DAY 2:
The next day begins with a drive to visit Hemis Monastery situated 45km west of Leh; Hemis is the largest and the wealthiest monastery in Ladakh. From Hemis, you should go to visit Thiksey Monastery, located on a hill-lock with formidable views of the Indus valley. Thiksey is especially noteworthy for its gigantic seated statue of the Maitreya and is also known for its (Dukhang) assembly hall which houses hundreds of rectangular prayer books, stacked between wooden covers and bound in silk. After that, continue to drive through a series of chortens to visit Shey Palace the former summer palace of the King of Ladakh. Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.
DAY 3:
Drive to Stok village and begin a day trek into the Stok gorge. This is an interesting and popular short trek to reach the shepherd camp and to enjoy the view of popular Stok Kangri at (20341ft) The to and fro hike is approx 5 to 6 hours, where one can enjoy unique rock formations on the way. Visit Stok Palace and Museum and then return to your hotel for the night.
DAY 4:
Drive towards Sham Valley on the Leh – Srinagar highway. The sightseeing includes Spituk Monastery and Kali Mata Temple, Ladakh Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Shri Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill and Confluence of Zanskar and Indus River. Return to Leh. Evening free to relax or for individual activities.
DAY 5:
Drive to Pangong Lake on the Indo China border. Evening back to the hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight stay.
The Pangong Lake: Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 M). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometers at its widest point to which foreigners are permitted, is only some seven km along the southern shore from the head of the lake, but it affords spectacular views of the mountains of the Changchenmo range to the north, their reflection shimmering in the ever-changing blues and greens of the lakes brackish water. Above Spangmik are the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Pangong range.
DAY 6:
Prepare yourself for the ultimate adventure of your life. We will drive up to the Kardungla Top to have a magnificent view of the surrounding valleys. Return to Leh. In the evening take a stroll to the market for shopping. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Leh.
Khardungle Pass: The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La pass (The highest Motorable road in the world) 18,390 ft. around 39 Kms. Away from Leh. There are two checkpoints on both sides of the pass. Khardong is the first village of Nubra valley at a higher altitude than Deskit and other villages.
DAY 7:
Take this day as your own and discover the leh city, every corner of it, go to the local markets and collect souvenirs from the local shops as you will support their business and board the flight back home and miss the journey forever.
