day 2 tamil nadu to kerala | munnar : the tea pot of india - Letters From A Nomad - travel blog

Welcome digital nomads, join me on the ultimate adventure that never ends. Each of our life is made up of our experiences and stories that define us. travel is not just about seeing the beauty of the place and an instagram post. Its a feeling, millions of stories of different people around the world, the experience and above all peace.

So, after completing the first day in Kodaikanal which was one of the most beautiful places I have been to, it was finally time for a 5 hr approximate road trip to Munnar. I was very excited to see the deer park and the tea gardens for which it was so popular for.

The road trip was absolutely incredible, the twists and turns and the beauty of the mountains kept me mesmerized throughout the journey. then we changed our car at the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala and got on an Inova that was from Kerala when we were changing the car we were greeted by monkeys and they were very playful in nature.

It then started to rain and the rain clouds that covered the mountains were almost like soft candy wrapped around these lush green mountains. I will put a picture right down below.

then we went straight to our hotel to freshen up. it was situated in a very quiet place and the best part was that there was a small river near my hotel. It was the most beautiful sound to hear.

In the evening we decided to go for some shopping and we ended up buying 7 packets of tea of different flavors. There was also free tea tasting and I drank up 7 cups of tea. then we bought some souvenirs to remember the trip by.
It the end of the first day, we all were tired and went straight the bed.

The next was going to be busy, so we made sure that we will take enough rest to get us going the next day.

We woke up really early that day and went to have our breakfast in a small restaurant near our hotel.
then we got ready for our very busy day. we got in our car and the first stop was Eravikulam National Park. it was approximately 10 kilometers from where we stayed.

the roads made me want to stay on them forever. the mountains covered with tea plantations with people wearing a bag at there bag and collecting tea. I even tried to work with them and got some cool pics for the Instagram.

we then visited the park and got on a bus that was our commute inside of the park. we saw steep slopes and many Nilgiri Thar that is an endangered species. They were very beautiful and seeing them walking so near to us was very interesting.

The bus came to a stop near a souvenir shop and then we bought a white t-shirt with the logo of the park. Then we climbed up the steps up to the top of the mountains. At the top the view was something that I can't even describe with my words so here is a picture.

We then got back to our car and it was time for our lunch. We ate the traditional thali in a local restaurant and it was served on banana leaf. It was very delicious. Then we started for the tea museum with was 11 kilometers from the national park.

When we first entered the tea museum we wore our hair nets and we were taken on a tour of the museum on how the teas were produced. We then learned a lot about how hard and delicate work is fo eat making and at the end of the tour they gave us the what I think is the most delicious tea I ever tasted in my life, after that, we came back to our hotel and that ended the 2nd day in Munnar.

Next morning we are set to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala which is 8 hrs drive so it is going to be a hell of a road trip.
