9 Places In India You Didn't Know In 2019

Are you tired of visiting the same place as every other lousy tourist? well, then you are in the correct place.

The tourists from the country and abroad flock to world-renowned places like Taj Mahal, Shimla, and Goa. India, however, holds much more than this.

Well, when you are on vacation you should try to do new things and not go into the same monotony of life.

So, I bring to you a collection of offbeat, unknown places that are a must for anyone who wishes to see the best of India.

1. Halebid, Karnataka

when you are in India you literally have endless possible places and out of tourist places and today, I'm going to share with all you the hidden gems in India that you might never have heard of.

Halebid in Karnataka is one of the ancient temple towns of South India. The town is untouched by tourist crowds, therefore a beautiful offbeat experience.

Known as Dwarasamudra, gateway to the seas, Halebid is the capital of the Hoysala Dynasty for about 150 years.

Sacked by the armies of Malik Kafur in the early 14th century, the town fell into a state of ruin. Even in the ravaged state, the town’s glory still remains undiminished.

2. Ranakpur Jain Temple, Ranakpur

The village of Ranakpur sits a bit off the main route from Jodhpur to Udaipur and is a remarkably quiet place.

Apart from a few hotels and a couple of restaurants, the only other structure is the Ranakpur Jain Temple, one of the most important Jain temples in the world, dating back to the 15th century.

Set in the forest, this temple is supported by over 1,400 intricately carved pillars, of which no two are the same, creating an almost eerie atmosphere as you wander through the courtyard, as if in a never-ending ancient maze.

3. The medieval city of Orchha

Wake up early, before the buses arrive, and rent a bicycle. Bike along the paths connecting the temples, palaces, and fort, and you’ll be the only one out there.

Once evening comes around and the bus tours are gone, wander into the courtyard of the Ram Raja Temple, a major pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Ram.

Climb onto a rooftop and observe life below, as there are often festivals and ceremonies taking place by the temple.

4. Auroville - City Of Dawn, Tamil Nadu

Auroville is a spiritual community, whose ethos is based on the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and his compatriot, The Mother, or Mirra Alfassa, who founded the place in the sixties.

Auroville was not meant to be a place for a new religion, or where religion is practiced.

It hosts people from nearly 50 countries and there are quite a few things to do there.

There are a lot of activities in Auroville like Yoga, Tai-Chi, Watsu, different kinds of alternative healing and courses. You can also visit Matrimandir, Auro Beach, The

Radiating City and many more.
If you ever go there, do spend at least 7 days to fully appreciate the beauty of the place and the people who live there.

5. Khajjiar, Himachal Pradesh

Away from the touristy towns of Himachal, Khajjiar is an unexplored beauty.

The offbeat town in Himachal Pradesh is known as “Mini Switzerland of India”. Beautiful, yet blessed with serene charm the town is replete with hills, lakes, and meadows.

Trek in the scenic environs or go for long walks, it’s absolutely blissful. Visitors can also partake in various adventure sports like paragliding, horse-riding, zorbing and the like.

6. Talasari Beach, Odisha

Almost a secret, as it is very less frequented, the Talasari beach is one of those lesser known places for vacations with unforgettable memories. The shores are calm and peaceful.

Talasari fascinates tourists with its backwaters, which one needs to cross to reach the sea. The tropical weather all year round makes it a popular destination for those looking for solitude.

The scenic charm is something you cherish on your stay.

7. Valley of Flowers, Uttarakhand

The Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand is one of the most beautiful offbeat places one can visit in the country. The entire valley is titled a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is blessed with indigenous mountain flowers, insects, butterflies, and avifauna. In the rainy season, the valley looks like a carpet of flowers as almost 300 species of flowers in every possible shade bloom in the valley.

8. Siju Caves, Meghalaya

The gentle ticking sound of the watch echoes itself in the mystic Siju cave of the Meghalayan plateau.

This is one of the longest caves in India and has some fine river passages.

Located in Baghmara and filled with amazing limestone formations, this caves also include unexplored secret chambers with unknown labyrinths  It is a very deep cave enclosed in complete darkness which is sure to leave you in awe.

Siju caves are must have experience for anyone who likes adventure and is looking for something refreshing.

Filled with Crisp white snow and situated at a breathtaking altitude of 14,000 feet above the sea level, the Sela Pass is one of the highest passes in the world.

Right next to it is the magnificent Paradise Lake filled with crystal clear blue water surrounded by lush greenery all around which elevates the scenic beauty of this beautiful pass. It is located in Tawang and is less frequented.
