Hey, guys welcome back to a new day and a new blog, I hope that you are still nourishing the traveler in you.
Now without much waiting lets get to my one of the most hectic day of my life.
Today morning we all decided to wake up really early but we all got late by 3 hrs, by the time we started for the trip it was already 9.30 am. We got into the car and we were back on the roads. Today was a very special day for me because it going to be my first houseboat experience ever and I was the most excited one in the group.
We enjoyed the greenery around us and the fact that is was monsson in Kerala added the essence to the scenic beauty of the land. but I really wished that it would be a clear sky in Alleppey. It was 1.45 pm when we all stopped near a restaurant to get a quick lunch and get on the road. after that, we all were excited but soon our excitement came to a halt when we lost our route to the place where the boat was supposed to pick us up.
We searched around the city for at least 2 hrs when we decided to give up and call the boat manager to come and show us the way. When we finally arrived at the spot we all were tired and it was already near the time of sunset.
When we entered the houseboat it was like a whole other world. It looked like a normal boat from outside with just covering and windows but from inside it was really a house, it had 3 bedrooms and a common room and a dining area.
I got to my room and opened the window to see the water just floating and relax a bit. around 6 out the captain called us to see the sunset. I even got a picture on the steering wheel with the sunset in the background. it was just a magical place to be, it was getting dark so we decided to get back in our room and get a bit of rest before the night.
Around 9 pm our chef called us as it was time for our dinner. fresh fish and chicken and much other mouth-watering food were laid on the table. we all ate like we have been hungry for years.
We then decided to watch a movie as none of us wanted to go to sleep just yet. we saw the conjuring that night and it was pretty amazing, then we all went back to our room to sleep for the night.
The next morning we woke up to see the sunrise which was so beautiful that my words won't keep up with the image in my mind. Next, we gathered around in the main seating area to get our breakfast with the view of moving water and it was pretty amazing to see houses built so near to the water, and boats were being used as a mode of transportation. We saw many fishermen catching fishes and we saw many tours guide taking a few foreigners for sightseeing.
As the boat moved on we saw many birds and many people just hanging around, I got my book and went up to the deck and got down to relax and properly get the full essence of the houseboat trip.
The day followed by lunch, hanging out in the evening and dinner. that night dinner was made in traditional style by our chef and trust me it was the best I had on this trip. We went to sleep after that as we had to wake up the next morning and go to Kanya Kumari which was the last stop on our Kerala journey.
I had heard so many things about Kanyakumari that I literally have a lot of expectation with it. hope everything goes well tomorrow. bye for now !!
