alleppey to kanyakumari : kerala blog day 6 - Letters From A Nomad - travel blog

Welcome digital nomads, join me on the ultimate adventure that never ends. Each of our life is made up of our experiences and stories that define us. travel is not just about seeing the beauty of the place and an instagram post. Its a feeling, millions of stories of different people around the world, the experience and above all peace.

A new day and I am all ready to face it with my full energy, as this is my last 2 days in Kerala so I want to get all the juice out of it. First things first we got ready and jumped into the car with all the bags of snacks we bought as it was going to be a long journey to Kanya Kumari. ( pro tip : always bring a power bank with you ).

Well after this trip, I'm thinking about making a blog just about all the bare minimum necessity you need to have as a traveler. Keeping that aside let's get to the 2 fantastic days in Kanyakumari. Once again we were on the road and trust me the best way to enjoy a place our there culture is to get on the road because you get to see all these amazing places.

I had bought a book at the airport while coming here, beyond the blue horizon as someone who absolutely loves to travel by flight I am loving this book so far. I just love the smell of coffee and the tension and the halt of the airport. It is for me one of the most beautiful places.

we saw a glimpse of the sea on our way there and we all could tell the beach was near. We could feel the timid air brush against our faces. We stopped at a local restaurant for our last lunch in the traditional way on banana leaves and all as tomorrow we have all lunch dinner at our hotel.

We were back on the road and this time it started to rain cats and dogs. I'm not a big fan of rain it gets me kinda dizzy. Well, it stopped after an hour or so. Nothing else exciting happened that day we reached our hotel at 8.30 pm and we all were so tired we crashed in our room and did not wake up till the next day at 3.30 am.

Apparently sunrise happens really early in Kerala and we didn't want to miss this. We decided to walk our way to the point to see the sunrise as it was pretty nearby to our hotel.

When we reached there we were astonished to see so many people with us at this hour with us. Trust me when I say this it was the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen in my life. I won't spoil it by describing you but put a photo right below.

It is said in India that the best sunrise you. I'll get to see at Kanyakumari and the best sunset is at Pangong lake.

Next, we got back to our hotel room and got freshened up for the day. Then we went to the restaurant inside the hotel as all breakfasts, lunch, and dinner were included in the room price. It was an English style breakfast with break scrambled eggs and waffles and maple syrup. We ate like animals as we didn't eat anything the night before.

Then hopped onto the car to go on a ferry ride to a small island where there are Thiruvalluvar Statue and Vivekananda rock. We could see it from the shore and trust me we had a queue which must be a kilometer long for the ferry ride to see the statue and the temple there.

The ferry ride was very scary as the waves were thrashing against the boat, finally, when we reached there I was totally blown away how they must have built such a huge thing in the middle of the sea. we saw the beauty of the place and I won't describe it anymore but give you a visual of its beauty.

Next, we came back to the land and we had our lunch and went to the sunset point the hidden twin beach. We watched the sunset on the vibrant horizon which marks as the last day of our visit to Kerala, we all were sad as we had to leave this amazing place and go.

That night at our restaurant a local band was playing and we all sat down and had the best dinner night of our trip.

We then went back to sleep and the next day at 9 am caught our flight back home. with the memories of the land of gods, I promise to come back again someday.
