Pros And Cons Of Living In The Mountains

The calmness that the mountains give is like no other thing in the world. To live in mountains is like meeting your true self once again and realizing what you truly want in this life. That is the reason why saints and Himalayas are inseparable. The peace mountains offer leads to the ultimate bliss where one can understand the purpose of one's existence.

It's my dream to live in the mountains when I grow old. I want to be as far away from civilization as I could. But there is always a downside to everything and living up in the mountains can be very challenging. But if you are someone who is ready to take on any challenge mother nature throws at you, then it might be the paradise you were looking for.

pros of living in the mountains:

 It’s a natural paradise:

From forested slopes to desert peaks, if you’re living in the mountains, you’re living in a place of idyllic beauty. Plants and animals live much more freely on mountains, where populations are less dense and there are considerably fewer buildings.

Tons of privacy:

Mountain living is ideal for people who appreciate peace, quiet, and the chance to inhabit their own little slice of mostly untouched nature. And if you’re looking to be as remote as possible, there are plenty of opportunities to live in the mountains without any neighbors in eyesight.

Unbeatable views:

This one seems kind of obvious, doesn’t it? The higher up you go, the more breathtaking vistas you’re going to see out your window. Sure, the high altitude will mess with your baking and your lungs may take some time to adjust, but the views are one of the major things that making living in the mountains such a unique and special experience.

You’ll probably always feel like you’re on vacation:

There’s a charm to mountain living that you just don’t find in the city or the suburbs. There’s something truly wonderful about waking up in the crisp mountain air and going to sleep under such a large and quiet sky, and there are often new things to see—new animal visitors, new wildflowers in bloom that you’ve never noticed before. Keep your eyes and ears open and every day in the mountains can bring something novel and awe-inspiring.

cons of living in the mountains:

The difficulty with access:

When you live that high up you shouldn't expect the uber to be driving you up. I exaggerated a bit but yeah, amenities like fast internet connection, A quick bite to grab, restaurants, repair services aren't that easily available and often very costly so you should be prepared to face all these problems if you want to live in the mountain.

 Distance from amenities:

There’s no such thing as a quick trip to the store when you’re living that mountain life. Most mountains are inherently rural. Combine that with the difficult building conditions and you’re not going to be seeing a lot of commercial development there (nor do most residents want it). No, if you’ve run out of dog food or you need to drop off a letter at the post office, you’ll have to plan for a bit of a trip.

Extreme weather:

The weather has a way of being just a little bit more dramatic when you’re up high. Winds whip harder, the cold is more biting, and, depending on where you are, conditions can present a high risk of wildfire. To comfortably live in the mountains, you’ll want to learn as much as you can about the sorts of whether you’ll likely experience in your neck of the woods so that you can plan appropriately and make sure you have everything you need.

There are a ton of other problems you will face when you live somewhere up that high like mountains sickness and many other health issues that you might face, I will leave a link to the health issues you might run into and their solution just at the end of the post. just to be on the safer side you should take the precautions so that you can live healthily.

Apart from these I think living in the mountains will be very fun and if you are someone who likes isolation it would be your paradise, none the less. There will a ton to do and time to think about. If you are a writer or a poet or even a blogger, I can't find a better place for you to write and reflect upon your life. We live in such chaos that the life up there will be a sweet dream you would never want to wake up from.
